Career Summary:
Dr. Barton sees patients for naturopathic treatment of all types of health conditions. As an oncology resident, she also collaborates with physicians at Frontier Cancer Center to support the general health of patients during cancer treatment. She helps patients choose helpful natural treatments and identify those that should be avoided. Appropriate natural treatments can alleviate side effects from cancer drugs and radiation and can reduce the risk of cancer recurrence.
In addition to general naturopathic tools and techniques, Dr. Barton provides personal nutrition consulting according to the Blood Type and Genotype diets. Her naturopathic training included work under Dr. Peter D'Adamo, author of Eat Right 4 Your Type.
Prior to medical school, Dr. Barton studied the interaction between different systems of the earth (soil and bedrock, living things, and the atmosphere). She applies the “systems” approach in her naturopathic practice, optimizing the functioning of each body system to improve the health and well-being of the whole person.
